Ahmer Anis · The Van Helsing Series
VAN HELSING
Blood Moon Over Whitechapel
Nine volumes of gothic horror. One hunter who refuses to look away. The fog of 1888 is rising again — and something with a bride's face is walking through it.
The Series
Abraham Van Helsing did not retire. He simply stopped writing it down — until the blood moon came back for the bride he failed to bury.
Ahmer Anis rebuilds the legend from the cobblestones up: a Whitechapel where the Ripper, the vampires and the fog all answer to the same mistress. Each volume is a case file. Each case file has a body in it.

Blood Moon Over Whitechapel
A Van Helsing Case File
“The first body was never meant to be found.”
Autumn, 1888. Abraham Van Helsing arrives in Whitechapel to bury an old friend and finds the district already knee-deep in corpses. Something is walking the fog with a surgeon's precision — and it is not, strictly speaking, alive.

Reader Verdicts
What the vault has heard back.
Whitechapel has never been this cold
I have read a lot of Victorian horror and none of it has made the fog feel like a character before. Van Helsing is written as a tired man rather than a hero, which is far more frightening than a hero would have been.
Book 4 is the best one yet
The congregation in the street is the most unnerving image in the whole series — no screaming, no chase, just hundreds of people standing quietly and looking up. I read the last third standing up.
Filia Lilith is the best villain I have read in years
She is never once described as a monster. That is what makes her terrifying. The scene in Miller's Court where the lamps simply finish is the single best page in the series so far.
The confession chapter floored me
Book three slows the pace down and it earns every second of it. The handwriting reveal had me put the book down and walk around the room. Four stars only because I wanted another fifty pages of Abberline.
Read it in one night with the lights on
I picked this up as a standalone and immediately went back and bought books one through three. The blood moon timeline on the lore page is what sold me. Waiting on Book 5 now.
