The Author
Ahmer Anis
Novelist. Gothic horror. Writing from Karachi, hunting in Whitechapel.
Ahmer Anis grew up on the two things that make a horror writer dangerous: long nights and old books. He began the Van Helsing series with a single question — what does a man who has killed the undead do with the rest of his life? The answer turned into nine volumes, and the answer was: he keeps going, and it keeps costing him.
He writes from Karachi, at night, with the ceiling fan turning and a notebook of 1888 street names beside him. The geography is researched to the cobblestone. The rest — the brides, the blood moon, the things in the fog — is his.
Book 4, Blood Moon Over Whitechapel, is out now. Book 5 is being written.
How the series is built
Three rules the vault never breaks.
Horror with a case file
Every volume is written as an investigation — evidence first, dread second, and the horror hidden in what the evidence will not say out loud.
Whitechapel, rebuilt
The district is not a backdrop. Streets, gas lamps, dockyard fog and the smell of the Thames are all mapped before a single vampire moves through them.
Nine volumes planned
The blood moon record already reaches past Book 9. Each release closes one case and opens the ledger on the next one.
From the desk
A note on the fog.
“Horror is not the monster. Horror is the moment a good man decides the ledger can be balanced later.”
Book 5 Notification
Be told the moment it is finished.
One letter when the next volume is ready — nothing else, ever.
